Recording at Frogville

This song was written about, but not recorded at, Frogville Records in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Just picked up the band at the Santa Fe Depot
still trying at the US bank to get ahold of my dough

In on the nine dollar Rail Runner commuter train
fast asleep through the thunder and the rain

The dash warning light says fill up the tires
is this the day that my sporty rental car expires

Watching the sky turn yellow, orange, and red
tonight everybody crashes on a hand made bunk bed

Now it’s New Mexico as far as the eye can see
here on the front porch sipping cinnamon cowboy coffee

Just in from a rugged morning mountain stroll
is Bill at Frogville Records on the vintage console

Justin is the ace on the upright bass
holding down the fort with the smooth bluesy pace

Karina on the violin touches me deep in my soul
down my cheeks the tears begin to roll

Okay, we’re diving right into the flow
as Quanah gently rocks the bluegrass banjo

The back up vocals from Stephanie
is an enchanting sound so unique to me

A troubadour’s drum echoes off the mountain
crashing down like water from a distant fountain

Tomorrow it’s time for me to roam
but I’ll take this place with me all the way home
